LAYERING TIPS THAT WILL KEEP YOU WARM IN WINTER WITHOUT LOOKING LIKE A MARSHMALLOW

Winter is an awesome season!

It is a season where you celebrate Christmas. It is the season where you approach the end of the year and a start a new year. A season where you can go skiing, tobogganing, ice skating with your family and friends.

Unfortunately, it is also a season where the weather drops, and when the wind chill affects the temperature, you wished you dressed warmer in this cold weather.

The worse is when you have a low immune system, and with the cold temperature, and people warming up with each other, it's easy to pass a virus and in the end, get sick. Trust me, I got sick too but I believe it is because of my mother. Thankfully, I'm feeling much better and now with the new year approaching, I'm planning to be more active here on my blog.

So I want to show you guys how to dress the right in  winter without looking like a marshmallow or also being so cold, and in the end getting sick.

Here are the tips:

1. Layering clothes!

It's winter, you get to put on your boots and your top, sweater and jacket, go outside and head to your destination. Then when you arrive, you take off your jacket, sweater, and people see that your yellow shirt doesn't go well with your khaki pants. Fashion disaster! Then you realize it was wrong to wear a bright yellow shirt underneath your sweater because you thought the place you were invited to did not had a warmer temperature. It is great to have an outfit that when you remove a layer of clothing, it doesn't ruin your outift. However, it's troubling to have an outfit that would go well because you want to keep warm but if you follow these other tips, you would learn that all your clothes have to look great in order to have a great ensemble.

2. It's all about layering your clothes from thin to thick.

Think about it. You can't just wear a thick sweater, then another thicker sweater and then your jacket. You'd look like a marshmallow and probably you will start to sweat and your sweater will get smelly which we all know we both don't want. The reason to wear a thin layer at first, then thick last is because you want to prevent moisture from entering your skin which then will move the moisture outside of your base layer where it will spread along your thicker jacket because of how large it is.

3. THE TOP YOU NEED FOR A BASE LAYER

So you can't just wear a regular cotton shirt then wear a sweater and jacket when it's freezing outside, you best to go out in a tank and probably will feel the same chill.

The base layer is important. It is the layer that will prevent moisture from entering your skin. It depends on the material of the top you are wearing. Best material to wear is wool. Though if you don't want to feel itchy, go with a combined material like Wool and Acrylic together.

The best top in my opinion to wear for a base layer is Merino wool.

You can find these at different locations such as:

H&M
Urban Outfitters
Topman
Zara
TipTop
and other stores that sell Merino sweaters for men

I bought a Merino sweater and wore it at my friend's daughter's birthday and boy it helped me on my way there. I wore it underneath a cream round neck sweater then on top, a vest and end up wearing my olive parka jacket. The only part of my body that was freezing up were my hands.

Here are some outfits I put on that include a merino sweater.

Merino Sweater - H&M
Navy Kitted Sweater - Forever 21
Black Peacoat - H&M
Denim Jeans - Levis

Dark clothes to keep you cool in the inside and still keeps you warm on the outside when the temperature drops to at least negative 20.

You want to dress with more lighter colours?

Here is that outfit to wear when you want to wear your cream chelsea boots and your light wash denim jeans together.

Merino Sweater - H&M
Cream Knit Sweater - Urban Outfitters
Tan Overcoat - Topman
Light Wash Denim Jeans - Topman
Cream Suede Chelsea Boots - Urban Outfitters

As you can see, wearing a black merino top with a cream knit sweater can go well with the coat or without it. And who doesn't like the combination of light wash denim jeans and a cream/tan coat?

Finally want to wear those leather chelsea boots in the winter? Here you go!

Maroon Zip V-style Sweater - Le Chateau
Navy Denim Jacket - Forever 21
Skinny Jeans - Zara
Tan Overcoat - Topman
Black Chelsea Boots - Browns

As you can see what I lay down... I have the maroon sweater as my base layer. It contains more wool than cotton so it will prevent any moisture from entering the skin. Then, you can put a denim look to not make it too formal and conclude with the tan overcoat. The overcoat is 50% wool so it will keep you warm on days when  the weather is below -20 and you are heading for evening dinners with friends.

4. Do not wear more than 4 layers.

If you think wearing an outfit that includes a pair of red pants and pink sweater is embarrassing, wait till you discover how embarrassing you will feel when you can't even move your arms.

Never wear more than 4 layers. You might think it will work but even wearing many cotton shirts and 2 sweaters can still get that cool moisture onto your skin getting you sick. And also, you don't want to feel hot if you are outdoor going ice skating and be uncomfortable moving with that huge attire. Please don't be like Joey.

And these are the tips to learn how to layer when you go out in the winter weather.

Now, here are other outfits that I layed out that you can wear that is more casual or urban. I suggest wearing a puffy jacket or a parka jacket with colours such as black, olive, navy and dark brown.

Marble Olive Crewneck Sweatshirt - H&M
Grey Distressed Jeans - Zara
Cream Suede Chelsea Boots - Urban Outfitters

Marble Olive Crewneck Sweatshirt - H&M
Navy Jeans - Zara
Navy Hat - Banana Republic
Cream Suede Chelsea Boots - Urban Outfitters

The rest are also for going out to semi formal events like christmas dinners or special birthday celebrations.

So there you have it! These tips will keep you warm in the winter without looking like a marshmallow and prove you are a fashion guru.  Hope you guys had a great Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year!!

Winter is coming soon!! Time for the dark colour outfits!!

Hey guys, so I've been really busy trying to set up for Christmas and I hope these last few weeks of this year will go great.

Anyways, I want to show you a casual outfit that would look good early in the winter when the weather is not too cold.

Here, you can see that I am wearing a grey trench jacket with a black turtleneck. Additionally, I paired it up with black pants to give it a cool dark tone then finishing up with a pair of tan suede chelsea boots.

I chose to wear tan suede chelsea boots so I can make the outfit spark up but not too much. The tan colour just gives it a nice touch with grey layer on black. I am a fan of black but I felt to just wear a grey trench jacket to give it a cool but not too neutral style. It's a half of everything.

Grey Double Breast Trench Jacket - Zara
Black Turtleneck Sweater - Zara
Black Pants - H&M
Tan Suede Chelsea Boots - Urban Outfitters

Now, if you don't like wearing semi casual clothing like this. If you are not feeling the turtleneck or be comfortable wearing chelsea boots and want to wear normal boots, here is another outfit!

Here in this outfit grid, I laid an outfit that would look awesome on you wearing if you are heading to the skating rink with your friends or girlfriend or just going for a hike in the woods for fun.

I laid a chambray shirt to give it that cool blue look. Next, why not go with a grey sweater. Preferably either a collar shawl or a shawl cardigan which I have here. It's a nice layer with the shirt because it is grey. Then you can wear a black vest if you don't want to wear a jacket and want to feel comfortable. Because of the vest being a neutral colour, it doesn't make the outfit look bad. Then pair it up with some regular denim jeans and a pair of boots. In this grid I chose my brown suede boots because I like playing around with different colour but not going out of the contrast with a bright colour but by using a dark colour like brown.

Blue Chambray Shirt - Forever 21
Grey Shawl Sweater
Denim Jeans - Levi's
Gillet - H&M
Brown Suede Boots

And there you have it! I will post more later on this week. Stay warm guys and have a great day!

Introducing 'Violent Kingdom' dad hats

Hey guys, so last night I partnered up with my brother in law's new fashion brand 'Violent Kingdom' by helping him with a photoshoot for his brand and it went awesome!!

Thank you for Nick coming by and helping with the photoshoot.

Dad hats have been a popular trend for while and I could honestly say I was happy to join in the photoshoot as well.

These outfits here display a street themed outwear surrounded in the woods.

Here, Nick is looking down towards the river. With the background displaying a bridge in a season like this, this shows that even urban wear is suitable for this environment. Dressed in a zip style denim jacket, white shirt, distressed jeans and white dad hat, Nick makes urban wear totally good in the woods.

Here is the outfit Nick is wearing:

White Dad Hat - Violent Kingdom
White Long Length Shirt - Topman
Denim Zip Style Jacket - Forever 21
Distressed Denim Jeans - American Eagle
Yeezy Boosts 350 V2 - Adidas

Later on, I decided to join the shoot and it went pretty well for me also.

Here, I am wearing a olive bomber jacket with a taupe sweater keeping me warm and pairing up with blue biker jeans. The pink VK brand gives this an artistic look in my opinion.

Here, I would show you the outfit:

Pink Dad Hat - Violent Kingdom
Taupe Long Length Distressed Jeans - Forever 21
Olive Bomber Jacket - Guess
Distressed Biker Jeans - Zara
Brown Suede Boots - Zara

Here, I took off the bomber to look casual walking under the bridge. This time I am wearing the Yahweh Dad Hat to make it simple and clean.

Overall, this was a great experience and it was such a privilege to work along with my brother in law into making his vision into something great.

Praise to Him.

Alley Theme Street Outfit

Sorry for the late post, I have been busy with work. It's exhausting working every night for 7 days without a break. Good news is that I just came back from a great vacation and coming back to work, I thought I'd be tired but it has been the opposite and I'm glad about that.

So right now, I will show you a new outfit I put up to. With great help from my friend Nick, we went to downtown and took great photos by Bloor and Ossington in the alleys.

As you can see on this photo, he is wearing a light baby pink sweater. With the sweater's light contrast and the cyan color in the background, it shows more focus on his face bringing his eyes out more in this photo.

Here, you can see him wearing a black bomber jacket with distressed denim and white athletic shoes to give it a fresh tone. With the various colours of the graffiti in the background, it displays Nick a very casual and neutral look in the alley way.

Pink Hoodie
Distressed Jeans - Forever 21
White Mid Top Shoes - Footlocker

More photoshoots soon!!

Flannel in the fall? HECK YEAH

Hey guys, it's been a while. Just been busy with work. Today I can finally relax and get back to blogging and also film an upcoming video.

Here, I wanna show you guys an outfit that looks awesome on a cool autumn evening.

As you can see, a navy flannel, pair it up with some jeans and desert boots and you are good to rock the cool evening.

With the contrast of the desert boots, it goes well with the navy jeans and the navy flannel. Go blue!!

Navy Cotton Flannel - Forever 21
Skinny Navy Jeans - Zara
Desert Boots - Clarks

But it's always fun to emphasize the look more street themed!

All you gotta do is grab a tan hoodie, put back on the flannel but have it opened. You can also wear a long length shirt underneath the sweater if the temperature drops or for more layer depth. Grab a pair of ripped jeans and finish it off with some boots! Either black or a contrast of brown like tan or taupe. Here, I'm wearing my brown suede boots from Zara.

Fall ain't over yet!!

Neutral goes well both ways!!

Sorry for the late post, been busy with work but I would keep updating these blogs when I am free. So I love fall, I already have expressed my love for outfits especially in the fall. Here, I will show you an outfit that doesn't stand out but looks very casual and stylish for you guys.

Model: Nick @nickczi

As you can see, this is just comfortable. The ripped green denim with a long length black top with a black bomber jacket does the outfit well. Pair it up with some great black sneakers and you look fresh. Here, he is using Yeezy Boost 350s.

Bomber Jacket - Calvin Klein
Black Long Length Shirt - H&M
Olive Biker Jeans - H&M
Pirate Black Yeezy 350 - Adidas

Another photo, though blurry shows how the outfit looks great in this setting. With the ripped jeans and the bomber in this, it really creates a casual, street and sporty look.

First Outfit for October

Well, unlike everyone else.. well most people around me. October is not my favourite month. Although I'm not a fan of the flu season and the holiday Halloween, whereas you hear in the news children missing, October is a month where your fashion game is put up to the test.
Shawl cardigans, the color burgundy and navy, sweaters, combat boots, scarves, hats and outwear such as leather, denim, military and bomber jackets speaks out, 'Hey Fall, I miss you!!'
You're thinking "okay, time to wear a shirt with a cardigan and some pants with a hat to look good" but there is so many outfit inspirations to wear during this month.
Today, I'm gonna speak about an outfit that is so comfortable and pretty warm despite the layer.

Yes! The classic hoodie and bomber jacket layer combo.

I love streetwear. But I love it more in the fall. Out to a fall festival or for an event in the city, it's pretty useful and essential.

The items in this grid photo are:

Based on the colours of these items, they don't really stand out, but it kinda gives it a good pattern. Green and Red. I enjoy it. It gives it an edgy tone based on the contrast of the green bomber and the neutral colour back of the hoodie.

But there's always options!!

Go for a grey hoodie to give it a casual look.
Or add in some black ripped skinny pants/jeans to match with the hoodie!! Some combo!!

Anyways, I'll post many other outfit inspirations later this month! I hope you guys enjoyed this post and have a goodnight!

Birthday Outfit

Lets be honest. Most of us like to post a birthday selfie on social media whether it's Instagram or Twitter, snapchat of course. Me, I like to be different. I went with my family to a Japanese restaurant in Missisauga. It was really good food. Very classy and someone where I'd love to take a date there. It was good in the end to bring my camera out to take photos with the scenery in the area. To conclude the evening, my sister took photos of me. Now with the weather being cool, I felt it was a good outfit to have.

Denim Jacket: American Eagle

Brown Shirt: Topman

Hat: Lids

Ripped Black Pants: Zara

White Sneakers: Nike

Let's just hope the weather continues like this.

My First Blog!!

Sunday, September 25, 2016

Hey guys!! So this is my first blog post here in blogger.com. It's been actually a week since my birthday has passed. Boy was that some day... Today has been an emotional day. In the baseball world, one of the greatest young pitchers passed away last night in a boating accident. I woke up with a notification on my iPhone saying Jose Fernandez from the Marlins got killed in a boat when it sunk.

Let us appreciate life because it is so fragile. Love your loved ones and be grateful for another day of life.

So I really don't know how these work but hey, I'm learning. Today, I'm gonna show a street style outfit. Yeezy Inspired.

Model: Nick

Camel Distressed Sweater: Forever 21
Distressed Denim Jeans: H&M
Yeezy 750 Light Grey/Gum: adidas

Great choice to wear for early fall when you're just walking down the city park. The weather being 18 degrees. It is perfect to wear a shirt or a shirt underneath a sweater.

Of course, a white shirt because it is a neutral colour will look great with distressed jeans and a pair of Yeezys.
